Tiaho Trust

Health strategy

We support and strengthen community organisations that improve health outcomes for the people of our region, by focusing on health promotion and preventative projects.

We fund projects or organisations that will help us achieve our mission of enhancing the lives of peoples in the communities of Auckland and Northland.

Funding examples include:

  • Operational support, either a local, regional or national level
  • Raising awareness and information sharing that promotes healthy lifestyles, together with the prevention of injury and illness
  • Administration equipment and buildings: We don't generally fund the purchase of land or buildings for administration purposes, but we will consider funding towards office equipment, furniture and fit-outs
  • Seed funding: although we prefer community groups to have been operational for twelve months, we will consider new or emerging organisations that are operating under the guidance of a legally constituted umbrella organisation
  • Organisations that are supporting people with disabilities
  • We may fund projects that are sponsored by religious or faith based organisations, if  there is a community-wide benefit
  • Evaluation: The Trust is committed to developing and sharing best practice, so we will consider funding project evaluation costs
  • Facilities such as buildings and halls, including building upgrades, are considered under our Capital Funding and Community Facilities budget.

CLOSING DATES: February 1 and July 1
