Funding Information Service (FIS)

Funding Information Service is a not-for-profit organisation collecting and distributing information about funding by way of three separate searchable computer databases, FundView, CorporateCitizens and BreakOut.

  • FundView contains information about funding for community groups in New Zealand.
  • BreakOut holds information about awards, scholarships and grants for individual development.
  • CorporateCitizens holds details of New Zealand businesses that are committed to building relationships with community and voluntary organisations.

Auckland Council


Auckland Council provides various types of assistance to help ensure the needs of Auckland's diverse community groups are being met. This assistance includes grants and funding for the arts, community groups and projects within the city boundaries.

 

Creative New Zealand

Creative New Zealand is the main arts development organisation in New Zealand. Its role is to encourage, promote and support the arts for the benefit of all New Zealanders.

 

Department of Internal Affairs

The Local Government and Community Branch administers and provides information and advice on nine community grants or funding schemes to support local initiatives, community services and community-based youth development.

 

Far North District Council 

The Far North District Council's Community Grant Fund provides funds to encourage community development through the promotion of community based initiatives and projects which improve community living, encourage participation in community events, and/or celebrate life in communities.

 
 

J R McKenzie Trust

The J R McKenzie Trust makes grants to community organisations in New Zealand, mainly in the areas of social services, health services and community development.

 

Lion Foundation

The Lion Foundation is a charitable trust that exists for the purpose of raising funds for the community. It was established by Lion Nathan in 1985. The Foundation owns gaming machines that are situated in hotels, taverns and other licensed entertainment venues throughout New Zealand.

 

New Zealand Community Trust

NZCT’s funds come from operators up and down the country who run its gaming machines in their hotels, bars and clubs. Around 75% of grants are for sporting purposes, but it also supports other charitable purposes, such as the relief of poverty, the advancement of education, religion or any other purpose that will benefit the community.

 

Portage and Waitakere Licensing Trusts

The Portage and Waitakere Licensing Trusts (“The Trusts”) are set up to give back proceeds from commercial business and gaming to the West Auckland community.

 

SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust

SKYCITY and the SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust contribute to the local community by supporting many worthy organisations – both large and small – through grants and sponsorships.

 

Sport & Recreation New Zealand

SPARC (Sport & Recreation New Zealand) is dedicated to getting New Zealanders moving. That means everything from supporting elite athletes to getting out into local communities and encouraging people to get active.

 

Tindall Foundation


The Tindall Foundation, the largest independent private foundation in Australasia, is driven by a desire to support initiatives in New Zealand which assist communities to help themselves and to heal problems rather than manage them.

 

Todd Foundation

 

The Todd Foundation targets funding towards organisations and initiatives that contribute towards our vision for New Zealand Aotearoa as a place where “everyone is able to contribute to the best of their ability in a society that values and nurtures young people, encourages endeavour and recognises our cultural diversity”.

 

 

 

Vodafone NZ Foundation

The Vodafone New Zealand Foundation  manages two core programmes on an annual basis: the Grant Making Programme and the World of Difference Programme. Both encourage positive and healthy outcomes for young New Zealanders aged 12 to 24, who are highly at risk and facing significant obstacles in their lives.

 

 

 

Whangarei District Council
