Community Housing Projects  

Housing is widely acknowledged as a fundamental component of quality of life. It is a core factor in the health and wellbeing of families and the development of strong communities.

The purpose of this fund is to support community organisations delivering innovative pilot projects aiming to prevent or solve homelessness, or the need for emergency housing.

The Trust will support community organisations delivering innovative pilot projects aiming to address emergency housing needs. Projects must benefit youth, women, Māori and/or the Pacific community.

Funding will be considered for:

  • Project costs
  • Multi-year funding
  • Evaluation

Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate:

  • A fit with the Trust’s strategic objective
  • Proof that the project is needed
  • Capacity to deliver, including a proven track record of working in the housing sector, capability, good governance and management structures
  • Collaboration and engagement with other organisations, including other funders
  • Culturally appropriate programmes showing awareness of cultural knowledge and values
  • Clear outcomes and impact, with a clear strategy and plan for achieving outcomes
  • A commitment to reducing disparity
  • An exit strategy, including plans showing how the project will be evaluated and how the results will be disseminate.

Assessment Timeline

April 1: Closing date for application.
Early December: Final funding decision made and applicants notified.
