Youth Health and Development Fund

Application closing date - February 1

The Trust will consider funding community organisations which are delivering initiatives targeted at improving health and social outcomes for young people aged 12-24, by focusing on youth development, health promotion and prevention. Funding will be considered for initiative costs, which may include multi-year agreements.

Funding criteria - find out who can apply

If you are part of a collaborative initiative, a charitable trust or incorporated society must submit an application. This organisation will be considered the lead organisation for the initiative.

Funding priorities

Priority will be given to those projects that demonstrate:

  • Capacity to deliver
  • Clear health and social outcomes/impacts
  • Collaboration and engagement
  • Best practice approach
  • Reducing disparity
  • Holistic approach
  • Culturally appropriate practices
  • Exit strategy

The Trust will not fund

  • Retrospective costs
  • Initiatives / organisations that promote religious objectives
  • PHOs and DHBs (unless you are part of a collaborative initiative)
  • Areas which are considered the responsibility of government.  

The application process

February 1

Closing date for applications.

Early June

Our Board of Trustees will make a first stage decision. Applicants will be told whether their application has been declined, or has been approved in principle and will move on to the next stage of assessment.

June to September

This will be a planning and development stage. The Trust may provide assistance to the organisation if needed.

Early November

Final funding decision is made. Meetings will then be held with applicants to discuss payment options, evaluation needs, milestones and conditions to be met.
