ASB Community Trust aims to provide strategic support at a regional level for rescue services in the Auckland and Northland regions.

Rescue Services

The Trust will consider support for regional rescue services in recognition of the high volunteer numbers and the educational role they play.
The Trust will consider funding regional rescue services organisations where there is clear evidence of a regional strategy.

The Trust will consider applications for:

  • Rescue or administration equipment
  • Volunteer training programme costs.

The Trust will also consider multi-year funding requests.

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • Applications must come from a regional organisation
  • The need must be identified through, or in alignment with, a regional and national strategy
  • Cases of most need must be identified for funding by the regional body, or through analysis.

Fire services

The Trust will consider support for volunteer fire service organisations in recognition of their high volunteer numbers. The Trust will consider funding of up to $10,000 for rescue equipment requests.

Applications will be considered for:

  • general fire fighting equipment
  • clothing
  • communications equipment.

Applicants can apply for a grant every two years.

Applications will be assessed against the following criteria:

  • That the request meets the National Rural Fire Association (NRFA) /New Zealand Fire Service (NZFS) recommendations and is supported by the NRFA /NZFS
  • Previous funding from ASB Community Trust
  • Community need and community isolation
  • An organisation’s ability to fundraise.
