FundView and BreakOut presentations in Northland

The Funding Information Service is holding funding information sessions in Northland in November.

Meeting will be held in Dargaville on November 14 and Kaitaia on November 15.

 

 

Third annual Community Research Seminar 2011 

Thursday 17th November

The Unitec Marae, Mount Albert, Auckland


This is a one-day event for community organisations, government and academic institutions, to gather, network, share and hear the latest research.

Participants can hear presentations from the winners of the 2011 New and Emerging Community Researcher Award, New Zealand:

  • Dr Stephanie Palmer, Tumana Research
  • Karey Meisner, University of Canterbury
  • Jaimee Stuart, Victoria University Wellington
  • Priyanca Radhadkrishnan, Victoria University Wellington
  • Jolene Salmond, Nelson-Marlborough Institute of Technology

 Topics presented at the 2011 Seminar will include:

  • Pathways to positive development for Muslim immigrant youth in Western contexts;
  • Forced and underage marriage in New Zealand;
  • A better understanding of the phenomenon of men’s informal help-seeking;
  • Exploring the possibilities of siting the social work role within a GP
  • Piloting a tool for cultural impact assessment in local government decisions;

At the seminar we will hear and discuss the processes of community-led research, and some lessons arising from these processes. 

Hear about the journeys that these people have been on, or are still on now, that can help you think through the challenges you may also be facing. Hear from community-based and academic researchers about practice that is currently taking place in and with communities of Aotearoa New Zealand.
