Funding news and priorities  

The volatile world financial situation has prompted the Trust to take a careful approach to funding this year.

Our annual grants budget is based on income earned from the Trust’s endowment fund, and variations in the investment and finance sector will have an impact on our ability to make grants. Taking a long-term approach to our community funding commitment, the Trust is being cautious in 2012 so we can ensure a steady level of grant making into the future.

In the period through to September 2012, the Trust will need to prioritise its funding decisions and therefore the following projects will be a lower priority:

• new projects
• applications from organisations which have not applied before  
• projects  and organisations that currently receive a significant proportion of costs from other funders, such as the Government
• minor building projects
• office equipment.

We will reassess the situation in the second half of 2012 and we will provide an update on our funding policies and priorities, along with our new strategic plan, at this time.
