Community housing funds

Applications are now open for community housing projects, with April 1 the final closing date.

Trustline newsletter, March 2011

This fund is for community organisations delivering innovative pilot projects aiming to prevent or solve homelessness, or the need for emergency housing.  It can be for project costs, evaluation and multi-year funding is also available.

Our grants advisors are happy to talk with you about eligibility, but projects must benefit youth, women, Māori and/or the Pacific community. We will give priority to projects that demonstrate a fit with our strategic objective and have a commitment to reducing disparity.

We’ll be looking for proof the project is needed, that applicants have the capacity to deliver and are willing to collaborate. Programmes will have to be culturally appropriate and will demonstrate clear outcomes and impact.

To help you decide whether to apply, we’ve profiled three projects funded in 2010:

The Trust last year also helped fund projects run by the Vision West Community Trust in Glen Eden; the Monte Cecilia Housing Trust in Mangere; the Whangarei Accessible Housing Trust and Tai Tokerau Emergency Housing, in Whangarei.
