This report aims to assist the ASBCT to better understand the field of community economic development (CED) in the Auckland region.

Specifically, the report:

• Describes CED as a field of activity.
• Summarises the New Zealand and Auckland region CED context.
• Presents some implications for supporting CED in Auckland and beyond.

It is based on a review of relevant literature and interviews and workshops with stakeholders from government, philanthropic, academic, economic development agency and community sectors.
